11 Days Budget Best of Tanzania & Zanzibar Safaris

Today your safari adventure begins! We will pick you up from your hotel in or around Arusha. During the 2.5 hour drive you will enjoy wonderful views of the landscape and local communities. Upon arrival at Tarangire National Park you will go on a game drive. This park is famous for its large numbers of elephants, baobab trees, and tree climbing African pythons. At the end of the day we will make our way to the Africa Safari Lake Manyara camp. Be sure to take a dive in the swimming pool.

Today we will go to Lake Manyara. This park is known for its breathtaking, panoramic views, waterfalls, babbling brooks with clear water, and hot springs.
We will spend the full day on a game drive. You can also book a two-hour walking safari if you prefer to tour on foot. While on your walking safari you can enjoy giraffes, buffalos, and other animals from a good distance. In the afternoon we will drive back to the Africa Safari Lake Manyara camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

On day three we will head towards the Serengeti. After driving for a few hours, we will arrive at the Serengeti gate. We will then eat lunch before heading out on an afternoon game drive in this beautiful park. The Serengeti is known for its endless plains of savannah and forest landscapes. It is also famous for the Great Migration involving about 1.5 million herbivores and their followers.

At the end of the day we will arrive at the Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma camp. Located between Serengeti Seronera, Grumeti, and Ikorongo Game Reserves, this location is perfect for exploring the Serengeti. It is the ideal retreat for a relaxing moment watching birdlife, herds of impala, or listening to the sounds of the African bush.

We will start the day with a game drive in the Ikona Wildlife Management Area. This area supports a variety of wildlife across 242 square kilometres of pristine wilderness, including herds of elephant, waterbuck, black and white colobus monkeys, shy leopard, and both the greater and lesser kudu. In the afternoon we will explore the area by foot with a ranger and then end the day with a sundowner. You will spend another night at the Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma.

You will spend one more day in the Serengeti before making your way to the Ngorongoro conservation area in the late afternoon. You will overnight at Eileen’s Trees Inn, a beautiful lodge situated in lush gardens. The lounge area and dining room have the fun, rustic feeling of a tree house. Relax at the pool or take a dive.

Today we will wake up early in the morning and drive into the amazing Ngorongoro crater after breakfast. The Ngorongoro crater is the largest intact crater in the world. Due to its natural borders, there is an abundance of wildlife throughout the conservation area. It is home to the Big Five (including the African black rhino), as well as hyena, zebra, and elephants – just to name a few. In the afternoon we will drive back to Arusha and arrive before dinner. You overnight stay will be at the Africa Safari Arusha hotel.

When you arrive on Zanzibar, our local staff will pick you up from the airport and bring you to the hotel. The first night you will stay at the Shaba Boutique Hotel, which is located in a beautiful building in the heart of the old centre of Stone Town. In the afternoon (and/or the next morning) you can explore Stone Town. Walk through the narrow streets and capture the feeling of the old colonial Arabic Architecture. You can visit the former slave market, the Anglican Cathedral, the House of Wonders, or the old Arab fort.

Today we will bring you to the beautiful Reef & Beach Resort, which is located on the southeastern coast of Zanzibar. The Reef & Beach resort is a spacious holiday complex with over 600 metres of sea front. The beaches are pristine and the ocean is clear blue. It is located close to the reef and there is always a fresh breeze from the Indian Ocean. You will be surrounded by the best service possible and experience perfect harmony with nature. You will enjoy three nights at this beautiful resort on an all-inclusive basis.

This is the last day of your holiday! You can enjoy one last stroll on the white sandy beaches or spend a few more hours tanning in the tropical sun. Later we will pick you up from the Reef & Beach Resort and bring you to the airport for your flight back home.
